The Face Detection feature of NBFTools empowers investigators to match detected faces against known databases or watchlists. This capability proves invaluable in identifying potential persons of interest involved in criminal activities, missing person cases, or identity verification. By comparing faces within digital evidence to known individuals, investigators can swiftly narrow down the pool of suspects, expediting the investigative process.
Facial recognition involves two stages: The first stage is Face Detection in which a photo is searched for a face, then the image is cropped to extract the person’s face for making recognition easier. The second stage is Face Recognition where that detected and processed image is compared with the database to find all the images where that face appears.
Hence the Face Detection module of our tool provides the user with these two options:
– Extract Faces
– Match a Face
Extract Faces, in this module all the photos are searched for a face, then each image is cropped to extract the person’s face.
The extracted faces are then added to the tools database.
Match a Face, in this module the detected and processed image is compared with the database to find all the images where that face appears. When this option is selected a new wizard is displayed where the user should enter the link of the image from which the face needs to be extracted.
Clicking on the “Extract Faces” button displays all the faces that are extracted from the selected data set. Users should enter the name for each face and select Start. This will start the Face Search process.
All the images where the selected faces are detected will be extracted and the result will be populated in a tree view.
Face recognition using NBFTools is very easy. Using this powerful feature can help solve cases faster and better result.
